Coronavirus Update
Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at 10:09AM
The world health community continues to monitor closely the emergence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, and Kentucky state officials are taking proactive steps to safeguard our communities as much as possible. Yesterday Governor Andy Beshear signed an order exempting construction and retail business (among others) from an order closing some businesses. We at Wilson & Sons believe this is a good decision because Kentuckians will want to maintain their homes and other structures. Our stores will continue to operate regular business hours so we can continue to serve our community
We are taking proactive steps to address a number of business concerns.
First and foremost, we want to maintain a safe shopping environment and encourage and/or adopt practices protecting the health of employees, customers, visitors or others. You can help by remembering the following:
• Stay home when you are sick.
• Wash your hands frequently with warm, soapy water for at least 20 seconds.
• Avoid people who are sick with respiratory symptoms.
• Stay up to date by checking the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family services COVID-19 web site.
For our part we are sanitizing frequently touched surfaces in our stores such as keyboards, telephones, counter tops, railings, shopping carts, and other surfaces very frequently. We are encouraging our staff to stay home if they exhibit signs of infection, and providing hand sanitizer and soap for their use while at our store. We have placed signs on all store entrances asking customers to stop and do not enter if they have been sick in the last 24 hours.
We are also working diligently with our suppliers to keep flu related items in stock, such as cleaners, disinfectants, gloves, and masks.
We know that the coming days and weeks will be challenging for all of us and we want to assure our staff and customers that we will do the best we can to provide a safe shopping and work environment and remain open to serve the needs of our community.
Sincerely,
The Wilson Family
Serving our community since 1977
